Operations Specialist

Myatt Landscaping is seeking a focused, energetic go-getter to work in tandem with our managers to keep our installation/construction division running like a well-oiled machine. The ideal candidate would be a passionate and experienced plant person who has worked in the landscape industry and has good basic knowledge of landscape/hardscape installation and is also technologically proficient in use of computers and smartphones. They would be obsessed with details but also big picture thinkers, and would be enthusiastic about building relationships with coworkers and vendors. The selected candidate will be instrumental in improving efficiency, maintaining our excellent reputation for high quality, and helping the company grow.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Prepare job packets for every installation project
  • Schedule installation projects and assign crews
  • Schedule deliveries of job materials
  • Schedule utility marking
  • Secure permits from local municipalities
  • Track project performance daily and update management
  • Manage labor resources from tracking efficiency on each job to forecasting future workloads and allocating resources accordingly
  • Create and manage all purchase orders for installation division
  • Source all materials for jobs including plants, bulk materials, and hard goods
  • Tag trees and plants as needed—some travel required, in-state and out-of-state
  • Manage inventory of installation supplies
  • Manage organize and maintain plant holding area at the shop
  • Other duties as needed

Qualifications and Skills

  • Background in horticulture or related field (AAS or BS preferred)
  • 3 years of industry experience in landscaping or closely related field
  • Knowledge of both landscape and hardscape installation practices
  • Experience in BOSS LM or other CRM software
  • Current NC driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to travel in- and out-of-state occasionally
  • Strong decision-making ability
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
